This morning I was holding our brand new baby girl, Jane Addison. Mommy was enjoying some quiet time and I was whispering a bunch of promises to Jane. I never found myself doing this with my two sons. I just prayed that they would survive my fatherhood, but with Jane I was promising to protect her, love her, guide her and support her, among many other things.
As I whispered these things I had come to a pause as she kept sticking her tongue out at me, then it hit me, she needed something I could never provide in that moment. She was hungry for something more than I could give her. And so begins a new and continual prayer: "God, may she hunger for more than I can provide, may she find satisfaction only in You."
Congrats guys! She is beautiful. 3 down and 1 more to go :)
